Maybe one of these days, I’ll get the hang of keeping a blog and not abandoning it for years at a time. Or maybe the fact that I’ve paid for the website this time will get me to keep up on the blog. Probably not. But maybe.
My only real goal for this blog is to post, whether that be writing about my current projects, work, or just whatever happens to be on my mind.
Last Saturday, I received in the mail the Literary Tarot which I backed on Kickstarter back in 2020 and have been following ever since. With that, came the latest edition of the literary magazine F(r)iction which is a part of the same literary project. And honestly, if you enjoy literary anthologies, you need to support this magazine. It is undeniably the most beautiful magazine I’ve ever seen and the writing in it is so varied and just exquisite.
Better yet, after a bit of poking around on their site, I found that not only do they take submissions from everyone, previously published or not, but their next edition is set to have the theme of “dreams.” And, as someone who has been haunted by the Old Hag most of my life and who, up until very recently, had very elaborate and intense dreams, I’ve certainly got no shortage of fuel for that particular fire.
The submission cut off is May 29th, but the magazine’s editors work with you after that on your piece if they like it enough to put it in. So now I just need to figure out what I want to submit. It probably won’t get accepted, but I won’t know unless I try, right?
That gives me 17 days. Should be doable . . . probably.
Here’s hoping!
